Trailer feedback

This is our feedback from our thriller trailer. To get this feedback we put the link to our trailer on Facebook and asked for peoples feedback, good and bad. We used Facebook as social media and the internet is becoming more and more popular and it was a quick and easy way for people to watch our trailer. Although in the last screenshot of feedback one of the comments was that our trailer was too long, we stand by the duration as we researched how long the average trailer was and from our research we found it was 2 minutes, 30 seconds.

Film poster

This is my Film Poster for my trailer "Contradiction".
The background image is a picture of a crime board. I decided to use this background image as the journalist is shown putting together the crime board in the trailer. I then made the image black and white as I think black and white represents the past which the journalist is trying to piece together the information from the past in order to solve and piece together the case.
I also used the yellow/gold text as I think this represents deceit which links closely with the story behind my trailer whereby a man has been imprisoned wrongly for the family murder which he didn't commit.
I have used the phrase "Can the truth ever be captured?" underneath the title. This rhetorical question creates mystery and fits well with the picture of the journalist holding a camera to his face.

How did you use new media technologies in the construction, planning and evaluation stages?

In the production of our film trailer we used a range of programs/sites.

The first program we used was Facebook messenger.
This allowed us as a group to communicate, share ideas and arrange filming. This was particularly helpful in the process of our film trailer as the program allowed us to create a group chat which meant it was easier for our group to have a clear idea of where we're at and what still needs to be done.

The second program we used was YouTube.
We used YouTube's audio library for the three different pieces of music in our film trailer.
We also used YouTube to upload our film trailer to and other videos we used in our film trailer process, such as interviews with actors.

The third program we used was Abobe Photoshop. This was used to create our film magazine cover and our film poster. This was probably the most challenging program for me as i had not really had much experience with it before so took a bit of getting used to and was time consuming, however, after playing around with the program, and researching what the different tools are for it became much clearer. I experimented with the different texts, colors and also adjusting the brightness of the pictures to create a more eery.

The fourth program we used was Premier Pro. We used this program to edit our film trailer.

Although we often researched how to make our ideas turn into reality using the program and researching what the different tolls were used for. This process was very time consuming as we didn't stop working until we were satisfied with what we had.

Risk assessment when producing our trailer

RISK
LEVEL OF RISK
HOW WE WILL MANAGE THE RISK
Survivor falling over when running at a fast pace towards the house
High
We will check the tracks of where we plan for our survivor beforehand so that we know there is nothing she can trip over.
Making the car skid
High
The car is shown skidding and being out of control to create a dramatic effect, therefore this is dangerous and we will have to make sure the roads are clear before we do so.
Broken equipment
High
There’s a point in our trailer where the journalist runs towards the camera, if he doesn’t stop in time this could mean that he runs into the camera and breaks the equipment. To make sure this doesn’t happen we will have two of us standing behind the camera to make sure it doesn’t get knocked over.

Here i have created a thriller themed mood board. This helped our group to get an idea of what should be expected in a thriller film.

Certificate rating for our film

We have decided to rate our film a 15 certificate. This means our film is not suitable for people under the age of 15.
This is because our film contains strong threat and violence which younger audiences may find disturbing and uncomfortable.
However, our target age is teenagers and young adults so with this in mind we had to make sure that what we were showing in our film was appropriate for our target audience.
